“Another Excellent Stay at Hen Gamdda Fawr Holiday Cottage!” This was the 2nd visit to this lovely and homely cottage in less than 12 months. Yet again it proved to be yet another well worth stay in this well kept cottage, but this time we made full us of the lovely multi-fuel stove in the living room. The fire really made the place really cosy and we managed to keep it going for the 4 nights we were there for. Yet again the cottage was immaculate when we arrived with milk in the fridge and some lovely scones. The weather was again very kind to us and we did have heavy frost, but this just made the cottage feel even better. We have already recommended Hen Gamdda Fawr to friends and work colleagues! Its a great place to stay which is quiet and slightly off the beaten track but this is what makes it special. We 'll be back soon!! Well done Helen for such a lovely holiday cottage and keep up the good work!!

“Christmas get away” Lovely break inbetween Christmas & New Year. Visited Morfa Bycham, Criccieth, Black rock sands, Porthmadog & Borth y gest & had lots of lovely daily beach walks. Would recommend as a great location. The shop owner even opened the shop up for us because we didn't know the opening times! Perfect set up for our group. Happy New year!

“Lovely clean, and well fitted out bungalow, ideal for family holiday” We had a short (4 day) stay at this bungalow and were very impressed with all it had to offer. 3 nice bedrooms, ideal for us, our daughter and husband and 2 grandsons - not forgetting the dog. Allowing a dog is a massive bonus in our eyes. It was well provided for and we found it very comfortable and ideally situated for the eastern side of Angelsey - not that it's too far to travel all over. A handily located fish and chip shop 2 minutes walk away (very good too) and a couple of nice pubs and eating places nearby. Would recommend and consider going there again if we wanted to be in that area.

“beautiful, large and welcoming house!” situated above Prestatyn with wonderful views out to sea and surrounding area! The centre of Prestatyn with a selection of shops etc,, five mins in the car. Beach a mile away. Indoor pool and other facilities for children next to beach if weather is bad! Gorse Hill it self didn't disappoint being welcoming just like the owners who made is feel really welcome and even left a birthday cake for a special day! Thankyou Anthony and Heather. The house had every facility and a luxury finish and so much room so even with all the family you could escape to your room, cabin with pool table, childrens play area or room next to kitchen for older kids with wi and other games!! All in all I would have no hesitation in recommending this property and would love to stay again.

“Perfect hideaway” Great weekend getaway only an hour away from Manchester. Our hosts Thomas and Amanda were very friendly and welcomed us with some home made bread, which was delicious. They both had excellent knowledge of the local area and made great suggestions where we could eat and visit. The hideaway itself was perfect with a huge king size bed and not forgetting the hot tub outside. I would recommend the hideaway to any couples wanting to get away for that romantic weekend and look forward to visiting again soon.

“Splendid and comfortable base with lots to do.” Snowdon Cottage provides a very comfortable and well-equipped base for exploring Llanberis and Snowdonia. There's plenty to do locally even in poor weather and a good bus service so a car isn't essential. The cottage was warm, the beds (and views from the bedrooms) great and we had a brilliant weekend

“A Lovely Base for a Lllandudno Holiday” Situated 5 minutes’ from Llandudno (by car) this charming cottage sleeps six people. I stayed here with my husband and two teenage daughters. On arrival the cottage was as clean as a new pin and very well-equipped. it is cosy yet stylishly decorated throughout, with artwork depicting beaches and sunsets on the walls, which give it a restful vibe and a reminder that you are at the seaside. Additional touches such as fresh flowers, candles and scatter cushions on the beds made it all the more welcoming. The kitchen was particularly impressive. I am so used to kitchens in holiday homes where you are lucky to even find a tin opener, but we found everything we needed here and I enjoyed preparing meals here. The beds were all comfy and we slept soundly. The leather sofas in the living room were also much appreciated when we were watching TV as we had the space to spread out a bit. Although ideal for us, I would not recommend Hengoed for guests with mobility problems, due to the rather steep steps leading to the door of the property. These could be even more hazardous in slippery, wet conditions. A decked balcony area at the front provides garden furniture and sun loungers, which is lovely on sunny days. It also looks attractive at night when the solar lights come on. A folder of places of interest in the area was provided at the cottage, which we found helpful to refer to. Wi-Fi at the cottage came in useful and the washing machine and drying area was a godsend after our gorge scrambling trip when we came back with wet clothes. Mobile phone reception was not great, though. I very much hope to stay at Hengoed again.

“Brilliant weekend” Myself, my partner and our two friends enjoyed a relaxing weekend at the Pant. The pictures do not do justice how beautiful of a house it is. Andrew, the owner, couldn't be more helpful and his directions, recommendations and instructions were second to none. Every spec of the Pant is luxury and we will most definitely be returning.

“Beautiful views” We stayed at Pilots Cottage with 4 adults and 2 children. All of the group thoroughly enjoyed their stay. The cottage is lovely, very spacious and clean with beautiful views out across the harbour from the kitchen and the outside decking area. The location is good, there are 2 pubs and a fish and chip shop very close to the house and the local village centre, which has several shops, takeaways and pubs is a 2 min drive or a less than 10 min walk. The highlight for me was the views from the house!

“Stunning!!” We are a family of 7 including a 3 year old & a dog. We visited Borth Esgob from 22nd - 29th of December to celebrate Christmas. The house was absolutely stunning & had the most beautiful views of the beach & coastline from every window. Our dog particularly enjoyed her 2 daily walks on the white sandy beach which was yards away from the property. The kitchen was very well stocked with everything you could think of including lots of glasses, large glasses for wine ( always welcome!!) Cutlery, mugs, dinner sets, coffee machine ( pods) various sized coffee bodums, tea pots, cook ware, etc, etc. The American style fridge freezer was very useful for large families. The utility room housed a washing machine & a dryer which was helpful when you have a 3 year old with you. The 4 bathrooms were modern & the showers were powerful & always provided hot water. The sitting room was comfy & we were able to watch Netflix & Amazon prime on the large internet TV . The internet was fast which was great as some members of our family had to work during some of the days we were there. We loved all the artwork in the property & the little touches that made it feel very homely. The upstairs sitting room was lovely & felt very peaceful especially as I needed a few minutes away from the family downstairs on occasions!! There were plenty of games, books & children's games & jigsaw's. The house was very warm & had been decorated to a high standard. It was extremely clean & we felt very much at home from the time we arrived. Borth Esgob is one of the best properties we have ever stayed in & we would like to visit again. We have plenty of happy family memories from our week spent there If it ever goes on the market please let me know!!!

“Little piece of heaven” This place is amazing. The hot tub was just divine and we were so lucky with the weather cause when your in the tub at night you see nothing but the stars !!! So piece full and relaxing. The owners have thought of everything. The little town of Dolgellau was about a 5 minute drive with the a large Eurospar and the pubs. Try the fish and chippy....amazing but the opening times are pretty short. Would definitely recommend to anyone who wants to get away from city life for a few days. Wifi is good but you can struggle getting signal to make calls with mobiles but we didn't go here to connect to the world, we wanted to get away from it!!!! Heaven !

North Wales holidays

North Wales seeped in Welsh history and culture, is a region passionate about language music and history. This area is a holiday hot bed due to its gorgeous scenery and natural attractions. Fine sand beaches, along with rivers, mountains, and waterfalls dot the landscape and create an atmosphere that must be seen to be believed.

North Wales has many attractions for the adventurous traveller. Sail a boat in the Abersoch Llyn Peninsula, mountain bike at Coed Llandegla, or hike on the Brecon Beacons. The whole family can take surf lessons on the Llyn Peninsula too or horseback ride down the beach at Marloes Sands. Walk along the Anglesey Coast Path in Church Bay or mountain bike the Clwydian Range.

All of North Wales makes for a fun holiday, but try these top locations first:

Snowdonia: White water raft in Bala or climb ropes in Ogwen Valley - Snowdonia has it all. There is also a national park of 823 square miles in the area featuring mountain ranges, waterfalls, and incredible wildlife.

Denbighshire: The oldest inhabited piece of north east Wales is also the home of many UK celebrities.

Wrexham: A major cultural, educational, government, and economic hub of Northern Wales. The host of many sporting events and conventions for the area.

Deeside: Deeside is known for its industry, providing jobs for the people of Cheshire, Merseyside & North Wales and the home of Airbus (type of aircraft) manufacturing.

North Wales is picturesque, and you’ll want to experience it like a true Welshman by staying in a holiday rental instead of a hotel. Make your next holiday a special one by visiting North Wales - you won’t regret it.

Always dreaming of a return trip!

My sister and I stayed at Frances cottage in 2017(not 2018) and while this review is greatly overdue I feel I must write it! We enjoyed every bit of our stay in Wales, the cottage was perfect. Close to everything yet at the end of the road so not very busy. We felt completely safe and secure. We both often talk of going back because it was so idyllic. We walked everywhere, everywhere! We visited off season so much of the hiking we were by ourselves, again felt very safe. Frances was very accommodating as we booked last minute, there were even breakfast cakes and fresh butter for our first morning there. Her husband stopped by to make sure everything was good, it was excellent! I could go on but to sum it up, just a really great feeling there! Thank you Francis!see more

Beautiful Cosy Cottage

Absolutely loved our first 2 night visit to this cottage, spotlessly clean, warm and very comfortable and cosy, wish we have stayed longer, very close to all the shops and amenities, but also tucked away in a very peaceful spot. Fabulous walks to be had and so close to the beach. Bed one of the comfiest we have stayed in! Can't wait to revisit and will book for longer next time. Lovely touch from the owner of a bottle of prosecco waiting for us too. Will definitely be back. Thank you.see more

Valentine's weekend

My partner and I decided on a last minute valentine's weekend away and booked Castle View for 14th-16th February. Although it was the weekend of 'storm Dennis' we wasn't disappointed. Castle views location is perfect for all the North Wales attractions. The view from the apartment is breathtaking, even during a storm, and I must say the room was lovely and warm and although despite the storm the room was very soundproof! We arrived late on the Friday evening and planned our Saturday where we went on the Welsh Highland railway where we went and caught the train from Porthmadog, which is ten minutes from the apartment in a car,and went on a journey by train through the countryside and mountains, it was amazing. On the Sunday we sadly had to leave the apartment but went and visited the local Portmerion. Again, this place is breathtaking. And from there, we drove up to Caernarfon Castle through Snowdonia national park, and WOW what views. Castle View in Crittiech is amazing with breathtaking views and the perfect base to visit and explore other parts of North Wales.see more

Lovely lovely lovely

My dad booked this lodge for myself and my wife's mini honeymoon and it was just what we needed after a hectic planning period and the craziness of the wedding itself. Beautiful location in a very quiet and peaceful area. Love the little touches within the lodge that just make you feel at home. Plus we had some bubbly waiting for us on arrival with a congratulations card. Already looking to book again for later in the year. Thank you!!see more

Family break

We had a wonderful weekend at Beach Cottage. Communication was clear and friendly, on arrival, house was clean and everything in order. Logs ready, fresh flowers out, beds made up and towels provided. Beds comfortable and rooms spacious. It might be worth noting that there are hand wash and washing up items already there. We took our own but these items were provided. There are also some board games, we added one to the collection that we thought others might like. A side note, I’m sure it had been broken or misplaced, but on our visit there wasn’t a cork screw. There are shops 5 mins walk away but might be worth taking your own just incase there is a wine emergency. Would definitely recommend and return. It’s particularly good for kids, as we could close the front gates and let the kids have the run of inside and outside and they were safe. Thanks for a great stay xsee more
